About My Project

Sparking curiosity in any human is essential because being curious is a human ability. Everyone has the ability to be curious about something. My project is trying to attempt channeling a student's curiosity into things that matter such as world affairs. By doing so, my project attempts to create a much more involved community that's knowledge stretches far beyond the classroom.

How I Became Curious About Curiosity

My concern for Christchurch students' curiosity began at the beginning of this year. I observed how students interacted with one another, and how the conversations carried themselves. I was concerned when I saw that the majority of the conversations were about the latest gossip or the trending meme on Twitter. In a time of uncertainty, every person must be aware of their world. My first hope is to replace superficial conversation with worthwhile discussion.

The Importance of Curious Christchurch Students

Curiousity is one of the seven core values at Christchurch. As a community we hope to instill it in every student. Through global immersion trips, immersion trips, PEAC experiences, and other activities the school has done a great job in providing the oppurtunity for a student's curiosity. However, why is this important? Other than upholding one of our core values it is important to be curious because it creates awarness for the world we live in. By asking question after question our hunt for knowledge will never cease, and that is truly education.
